Whether you’re in college or wrapping up high school it is a well-known fact that life can be rough. It has highs, lows and every variation in between. And as my good friend Ethan likes to say, “You win some, you lose most”.
While it sounds a bit cynical, it’s also a reminder that life is far from perfect and you are not going to win every battle. This is something I and most everyone I know has learned repeatedly at college. I’ve learned that I am not going to ace every test, I am going to forget some important deadline and I am NOT going to always have my life together.
*Disclaimer – no one always has their life together.
What I have learned is that some days the best I can do is roll out of bed, throw on some sweatpants and just make it through the day. I’ve learned that a tray from Cookout (with a milkshake) can work wonders. I have learned that Furman’s campus has the best spots to take a walk/run/bike and clear your head. I have learned that sunrises give you a whole new perspective on life. And I have learned that through some of your not-so-great days you might make new friends in the most unconventional ways.
Suffice to say, college has taught me that the world keeps spinning, the sun continues to rise, life goes on and Furman is my favorite place to experience it all.
