I am a huge advocate for not declaring your major during freshman year for two reasons. First, the amount of people who actually know what they want to major in is way way smaller than everyone seems to think. It perfectly okay if you are as clueless as the rest of us. Second, if you pick a major off the bat and then keep switching, it only makes the process significantly more stressful. So avoid all that and hold off. Give yourself time to adjust to college and settle in. Figure out what you like, what you never want to study and go from there.
For the past three semesters here at Furmz, I have honestly loved my classes. There has been varying degrees of how much I loved certain classes, but I do not regret taking a single one.
I have spent the past semesters taken a plethora of classes that span quite the array of topics, and I am lucky enough to say I have found my niche. I have found the classes that interest me and actually get me excited to go them even if they’re at 8:30 am or 4:30 pm.
And because of this I have declared my majors!
I am officially a Psych and Politics Major as of this week.
* Declaring your major should be somewhat exciting, so enjoy the process!
