One of the things my friends and I love to do is go off campus. It’s fun to go explore Greenville and find new places to hang out or grab some food/coffee (big coffee shop gals). I thought I would share some of the fun things that are available around Greenville and some that are a little farther away!!!
SHOPPING. Greenville has many fun shops downtown like lululemon, Dress Up, and other fun boutiques filled with cute clothes. There is also Haywood Mall about 25 minutes away that has some of the bigger stores like Dillard’s or Macy’s.
EXERCISE. Swamp Rabbit Trail is about 20 miles in total and goes around the Travelers Rest and Greenville area. Many people enjoy taking a break from school by walking, running, or biking around the trail! Also, if you don’t have a bike you can rent one from the PAC for free!
FOOD. Greenville is the best place to go for a great meal. There are so many options…from Trio to Nose Dive to Cantina 76 to Tupelo Honey…there’s food for whatever you’re in the mood for!!
A Little Farther Away…
ATLANTA. I’m from Atlanta so of course I’m gonna tell you how awesome it is!!! There are concerts and events there all the time and it’s only about 2 hours from Furman! There are also some cool tourist attractions like the Georgia Aquarium or the Coke Museum.
ASHEVILLE. I have yet to go to Asheville but I have heard it is a great place to explore by walking around the city! Asheville is known for its art scene and historic architecture like the Biltmore estate. I can’t wait to get a chance to go because it is only an hour away from campus!
