Hi! Hello! Welcome to the beginning of my summer journey with you! My name is Tityana Watts and I majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in African & African American Studies. I hope you enjoy my blogs as I give you insight into Furman life while I prepare for my senior year!

Looking Back at the Beginning of my Journey
I am from Greenwood, South Carolina which is about an hour and some change away from Furman. Choosing a college closer to home allowed me to be comforted by the fact that if I needed to go home in an emergency, it would be easy for me to do so. I attended Emerald High school and graduated in 2017. If you follow my blogs this summer, you will learn more about me but I will give you the cliff note version now. I like to call myself an “extroverted introvert,” meaning that I am both outgoing and reserved at the same time. (I’m not sure how, but it works for me!) Here’s some astrological fun facts about me: I am a Taurus sun, Cancer moon, and Aquarius rising!

What do I do at Furman?
I am a part of many organizations on campus such as Furman NAACP, Student League for Black Culture (SLBC), Student Diversity Council (SDC), and the Furman University Gospel Ensemble. I’m also a part of the Mosaic diversity admissions team and a student intern for sports marketing in Furman Athletics. This summer I’m serving as an intern for Admissions which is why you are reading this blog now. 🙂

My Furman Experience So Far
My experience has been filled with wonderful organizations that have allowed me to participate in many areas of campus life. I have really enjoyed my time at Furman because the more I engage in campus activities, the more people I am connecting with and creating meaningful relationships. There is never a shortage of opportunities available and I cannot get enough of it!
