What does my school day look like?

Hi, hello, and welcome back to a new blog from yours truly! 🙂 This week I am going to write about what a typical day at Furman looks like for me, featuring my FDOC (first day of class) picture– A Watts household tradition that will never die!

I am usually that person who waits 30 minutes before their class starts to get up and get ready for class. Of course, living in Soho (South Housing), did not make that bad habit go away due to the academic buildings being so close. With that, there were numerous mornings where I would be up early and going into the dining hall and grabbing one of the best omelets ever created.

After my possible breakfast adventure, I am usually in class. I usually sign up for the classes that are in the mid-morning (around 9:30) into the early afternoon (around 1:30). I tend to aim for these classes because it allows me to spend the rest of my afternoon studying or working out in our on-campus gym (the PAC). The PAC is a great place to hang out with your friends because it allows you to be held accountable in your gym journey! I also grab some lunch between classes!

At this point, it about to be dinner time so I am usually grabbing a meal from the P-Den (Paladen) or eating some pasta from the dining hall. My friends and I usually find ourselves eating together, whether it’s intentional or not! During the evening time, I am in a meeting or rehearsal for one of the many organizations that I am involved in! The organizations I’m most involved in are Furman’s NAACP, Student League for Black Culture (SLBC), and my internship with the sports marketing department! Meeting with so many people and partnering with different organizations is probably one of the greatest things I’ve experienced while going to Furman!

I hope you enjoyed some insight into what a day in my life looks like while I am on campus! I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love the most with the people I love the most! <3 if you have any questions about student organizations or need further detail on what it looks like, feel free to shoot me a dm on Instagram: __tyvette__!
