ALL The Seasons

Greenville weather is like no other. We really do get all four seasons – sometimes in the same week!! Everyone expects South Carolina to be hot all the time, but we definitely get a full winter experience too. Most of my friends left all of their sweaters and jackets at home because they assumed it wouldn’t get cold before we left for break, but as soon as November hit and the temperature dropped to the 50’s, everyone started regretting their decisions. The low 50’s probably doesn’t seem cold to most people, but in South Carolina we think it’s freezing after a long stretch of weather in the 80’s.

Our summers are so nice and full of sunny days usually around the 90’s. We don’t get a ton of rain, but once it starts, it won’t stop for the rest of the week. That goes for any season! Definitely invest in a raincoat for the random spurts of rain we get. Our spring in Greenville is absolutely beautiful – especially at Furman! We get this weird in-between weather in the fall and spring where it’s freezing in the morning, but by the middle of the day you’re burning up. Fall is so amazing because all of the leaves on the trees start to change colors and we get perfect weather sometimes where it’s not too cold or too hot. Winter gets pretty cold in my opinion, but you’re listening to a southern girl so keep that in mind. It’ll get to the 30’s and we’ll think we’re dying if we stand outside too long. We usually get about one snow a year and when it happens we LOSE our MINDS! It becomes a winter wonderland and we will absolutely blow up social media with all the pictures.

Be prepared for anything when you’re in Greenville, because we really see it all sometimes. One day is hot and sunny, the next it might be pouring rain, and then it gets freezing out of nowhere. Right now we’re in the very beginning of November and it got freezing for a few days all of a sudden, but of course now it’s getting hot again. At Furman we have people from all over the country, so there’s no telling what hot and cold is to each person. You’ll see some people walking around in shorts on our coldest days, but others pull out their winter coats once it’s below 60.

Overall, we have some really great weather here, but just know that it’s Greenville, and sometimes you never know what to expect. Start packing those layers!

ALL the love!
